The Happening

The Happening is a global gathering of practitioners of the MG Taylor collaboration code—a dynamic methodology for co-design and facilitation that emphasizes creativity, systems thinking, and collective intelligence. Set in the historic Castello di Sebastiano Po, a 1,000-year-old castle in Turin, Italy, the event brings together facilitators, knowledge workers, and designers to connect, reflect, and reimagine the future of their practice.

More than just a conference, The Happening is a deeply human experience—an opportunity for face-to-face connection, creative exploration, and shared learning. At a time when the world faces complex and existential challenges, this community is leaning into the power of slowing down to speed up, planting seeds of systemic change through meaningful collaboration. This moment marks an inflection point for the MG Taylor community—rekindling relationships, redefining identity, and amplifying its impact on a global scale.

Being both a videographer and a participant at The Happening was a unique challenge that came down to professionalism and experience. It meant balancing presence with perspective—immersing myself in the MG Taylor community while capturing its essence on film. Navigating both roles required sensitivity, timing, and a deep respect for the process, allowing me to document the event authentically without disrupting its flow.

At The Happening, my goal as a videographer was to let the voices of the participants shape the story. Using professional audio equipment, I focused on capturing honest, unscripted reflections—allowing the narrative to emerge organically from their insights, not my interpretation. Rather than directing the story, I listened carefully and created space for their perspectives to lead the way.

It required experience and professionalism to know when to step back and capture a moment, and when to be fully present in the work. Balancing both roles allowed me to document the event authentically while still contributing to the creative energy in the room.
