Martin Zimmerman

1948-2021

Martin Zimmerman lived a life defined by courage, curiosity, and kindness. Born in post-war Germany, he grew up on a small farm near Murrhardt. After earning a degree in civil engineering, his adventurous spirit led him to Australia in 1970 with little more than determination and a dream. Through hard work and perseverance, he built a successful career as an engineer and business owner, known for his honesty, generosity, and calm wisdom. Martin reunited with his childhood acquaintance Angelika, and together they raised two beloved sons who became his greatest pride and joy. He was a devoted father, a loyal friend, and a mentor to many — someone whose humor, compassion, and strength left a lasting mark on all who knew him. Though his time with us ended too soon, Martin’s legacy endures in his family, his work, and the countless lives he touched with warmth and integrity.
